Sony PSP Power Outlet AC Adapter Charger

This is hardly a viable replacement for the original charger. It feels extremely flimsy and is not the same charger shown on the product page, but instead a generic charger. Additionally, the charger's package indicates it's intended for use with the PSP 2000/3000, and is not compatible with the original 1000 model.Get more detail about Sony PSP Power Outlet AC Adapter Charger.

Patapon Review

Patapon is an interesting game. It's hard to describe and hard to categorize. The best that I can manage is that it's a: Real-Time Strategy, Rythm, Role Playing Game.
You are the Patapon God, and with your mystical drum, you will guide the Patapons to victory against their enemies, ensure that hunting is good and plentiful, and guiding them to their Promised Land. That's where the Rtyhm game section comes in, as you give them orders to attack, retreat, advance, and defend through the drum beats, AKA, the face buttons. Your soldiers gain new weapons and armor from your fallen enemies or through synthesising them with materials you that you find.
Music is a major part of the game, obviously. With the beat of the level you are in, you must give your troops their orders, wait for them to repeat your order as they carry it out, and then it's your turn again. Keep the rythm going and you get Fever mode, where your Patapons move faster, hit harder, and throw farther. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather, as winds blowing against you will not help your arrows go far, but rain will hide your scent from any animals you hunt. You soon gain access to miracles that you can preform, such as making it rain so the ground is cool and won't burn your followers, and even change the direction of the wind, allowing your arrows to go farther. And, perhaps rather importantly, the music is quite catchy. I often found myself humming the game's tunes hours after I had stopped playing.
The art style is... different, but in a good way. It is simple and the characters are all well animated. I found the Patapons to be charming, what with their cyclopean selves, and the lines that they spout when in battle are funny, though their word bubbles do pass by pretty quick. The music mini-games are fun, and tie into the main game with new items and such, so there's always a reason to go back to the singing tree and stuff.
Levels are challenging, with the songs changing with every new stage, and new hiccups that your enemies toss in your direction, along with environmental challenges to take into account.
My only gripe is that there is no pause feature in the midst of battle. I suppose that's okay, since pausing will throw off your rythm and ruin whatever streak you had going. But, seriously, once battle begins, it needs your undivided attention, as Fever mode is a boone to your progression.
It's not a game for everyone, but if you have an interest in strategy games, or RPGs, or even rythm games, then this might be for you. And at 19.99 as the full asking price, this is certainly a lot of game for the buck.Get more detail about Patapon.

Medal of Honor Heroes Top Quality

I had purchased this game for my PSP used but received it in almost new condition. I immediately started playing upon receiving it and at first, did not know that the controls can be customized. Well, after the short disappointment and reconfiguration of the controls to my likings, I was amazed at the details of the graphics on this game. Weapons are just like the way they are shown on a regular PC game, and the actions are intense. German soldiers look as good as they are on a PC. Each mission (I'm at mission 3 now in Veteran mode) brings you back to a scenery in Europe and are just amazing. AI is pretty good at surprising you whereever you go in the game. I had bought both SOCOM Bravo 2 and this game and so far, this is my favorite by far. Load times are pretty good too, not like my GTA Liberty City Stories which takes a while to load for every new mission.

I also took a glimpse at the online game and it just wowed me. How can a such portable game be "online"? I was just speechless.

I just can't wait to get to other missions and right now, I just can't put it down. I even snuck the PSP with MOH Heroes at work and try to play whenever change I get. Do you like WWII games? Have a PSP? Well then get this game for around $20 and you'll be glad that you did, I promise!Get more detail about Medal of Honor Heroes.

Silent Hill Origins Immediately

ok. ok. ok. i know what you might be thinking... a PREQUEL?!?! WTF?! well, yes... a prequel, they had to explain how cheryl was born... DUH! well anyways... i just received the game 3 days ago... (which by the way NEVER came with my instruction manual and is a little scratched up and glitchy.) and beat it just right NOW! and i have to admit though, although short...it's also SWEET and to the POINT haha GET IT?! no, of course not... it starts out with Travis Grady (who the hell is that?!) some trucker dude who finds some random chick (i think might be Dahlia or somethin) and saves a girl from a fire...(avoided spoiler!) anyways although i was a bit sketchy about having to switch between fog and otherworld via mirrors, i realised that it creates more of a tension of "should i risk it?" kinda horror, and i really enjoyed the idea of revisiting that original Silent Hill with a new face and a new character with ALL NEW storylines! (sorta) the only disappointment I had was not seeing Cheryl talk or Lisa with a funny face & blonde hair.ALL IN ALL i give it 5*'s becuz of the originality yet (almost) maintaining the aspect of horror of Silent Hill (I also REALLY liked the storyline.)Get more detail about Silent Hill Origins.

Sid Meier's Pirates Order Now

This is a solid, open-world/sandbox adventure game that involves plundering towns/ships, searching for hidden treasures, dancing with governors' daughters, earning ranks, etc.. All this is quite fun in the beginning, but falls apart after awhile. I would compare this game to Assassin's Creed, where you repeat the 5 or so types of missions over and over again. After the first few hours, you realize that you must repeat the same types of missions in order to progress through the story. I have only completed 4 out of 25 or so key objectives for the main story. Each objective involves a series of sub-missions (as described above). You cannot skip around in the objectives as they unlock only after you complete them in sequence.

For $9.99 it's a good deal, but be warned that it will get monotous quickly. There are definitely better titles out there for the PSP.Get more detail about Sid Meier's Pirates.

LocoRoco 2 Decide Now

This sequel to the oddball hit Loco Roco falls in the categories of both "whimsical" and "eccentric". It's not a puzzle game, but you need to solve puzzles. It's not a twitch game, but from time to time, the way you twiddle the triggers is everything. It's not ultra-realistic, and yet physics is an important part of gameplay.

In Loco Roco 2, a world of cute creatures made from simple shapes has been overrun with some odd colorless creatures from another world. They've corrupted the color with black blobs and it's up to you to put things right. You play a cute little yellow blob that grows bigger as it finds things to eat. Movement in Loco Roco 2 consists of using the shoulder buttons to tilt the world this way or that and make your blob hop up and down--and it comes down to timing the tiliting/sliding action with the hops to get the blob to go where you want it to. Your cute little blob is made up of (and can break itself into) bunches of little blobs, and from time to time that is exactly how you have to get through parts of each level. Levels vary enough to be interesting, with sliding on ice, bobbing on water, or slipping through pachinko-like tunnels in "little-blob" form enjoyable.

Everything seems simplistic on the surface, but it can get fairly complicated if you're one of those people who wants to experience it all: hidden areas, minigames, alternate side goals and more are embedded in the game. You can replay levels, and the levels can "Level Up" which apparently makes it easier for you to find more goodies. You also find other characters who become playable as you go along, with slight differences in how they behave.

This colorful, simple-shape world is backed by a soundtrack reminiscent of Sesame Street: it's very childlike and cheery. While you're playing the game, it adds to the experience. However, I've found that anyone *not* playing Loco Roco 2 who gets within earshot finds it annoying (and I can't imagine buying the soundtrack CD that's offered here and actively listening to it outside of the game). Children will most likely enjoy this game, but smaller children who are just getting into gaming would probably have a hard time understanding some of what is expected of them: they'd probably be more prone to tilting the PSP and expecting things to roll or slide than they would be able to figure out the shoulder-button mechanics. I expect that the very small will enjoy watching big brother or sister (or mom or dad) while they play, as its Baby-Einstein graphics can make Loco Roco 2 almost hypnotic at times.

If you like a bit of puzzling and don't mind a bit of arcade button-mashing, Loco Roco 2 will provide you a gaming experience that strays outside of the mainstream. Its content is definitely safe for children, and makes a nice break from the typical, "you have bad guys, and you have to shoot/kill/explode/bop 'em on the head" gameplay mechanic that permeates many games. Its eccentric style may not be for everyone, and its soundtrack may overrun your tolerance for sweetness, but I think it's just part of an excellently-crafted package. I haven't found everything (or even completely beaten) Loco Roco 2 yet, but I definitely see myself getting there.Get more detail about LocoRoco 2.

Discount Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

THE GOOD:
- Your skill at reading the movements of your enemies determine how good or bad you'll do at defeating them!
- 4-player cooperative game play via a local area network!
- Team work and tactics are encouraged in multi-player games.
- Compelling weapon and armor design, so you can look the part.
- Outstanding re playability.
- Insane amount of game-time can be spent playing before you reach the pinnacle of monster hunters.

THE BAD:
- Not much of a storyline. But that didn't bug me.
- Learning curve can be pretty steep for some people.
- Abilities such as the Armor Skills are not explained in-depth in the game.
- It's annoying to farm for rare items in the later aspects of the game.

SUMMARY:
I thoroughly enjoyed Monster Hunter over many other games, even over World of Warcraft. I believe the game has a unique play style in the sense that even if you have the best gear in the game, you can still be a terrible hunter.

Most games require you to get the best weapons and best armor to get through, but with enough skill and know-how you can get by in the game without much extra gear at all. In fact, it's a good way to test how skilled you are as a hunter in the game if you can beat certain monsters with the use of weaker armor and weapons (just to challenge yourself).

The graphics of the game are nice, not too flashy. But, it's for the PSP, taking that into account they're darn good. There's enough detail to not make you bored to tears from looking at your character. The designs of all the weapons and armor in the game are perfect for every giant sword and giant armor buff out there. Certain sets of armor such as the Monoblos armor have giant horns on the shoulders, making you look more akin to a demon than a hunter. Very cool equipment appearances.

The re playability is spectacular, but most of the time you wouldn't really need to replay the game unless you wanted to try and beat your previous total game time on the next character when you get to the same spot. In fact, if I remember correctly, there was another player who was making a series of videos on YouTube where he would start the game from the beginning, and play through it without any armor and with a great sword. That right there is some challenge!

My only real qualm about the game is that some of my friends have a harder time learning to read the movements of the monsters and find it difficult to play the game. If my friends could get into playing defensively they'd probably be better, but it's hard for some folks to do that. When people have a hard time playing a game, and aren't keen on learning the way to play it safely and effectively it makes them want to play it less, which is rather unfortunate for me when I'm trying to get some friends to play it with me.

Another thing with the game is that once you've gotten to the higher ranks of the hunting gathering hall, you run in to some quests that are literally too hard to do by yourself unless you are a disgustingly perfectionist player. So having a friend or two to group with through certain areas of the game can be a true blessing (or a curse if they aren't very good. :P) so don't forget to find a friend to play with you if you don't plan on being the best out there.

All in all, I give the game a 5/5. Very nicely done! :)Get more detail about Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

Cheapest SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2

The campaign for this game is very short (4-6 hours) the main highlight for this game is the online. You get to play 16 player which is fun. The problem with Online is that there are many hackers. They cause the game to be unstable, they can ban you, and often just make the game unfair. It is not rare for the game to lock up due to hackers. As a result this really takes the fun out of Online play. When you aren't playing with hackers the online play is awesome. The controls are well suited for the psp (hold R to lock on) this is alot better of a control scheme than first person shooters. If you have wirelss internet at you house this game is a must have.Get more detail about SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2.

I ordered this game for my son as a birthday gift. The order came faster than expected. It was very easy to order and check out was very detailed. Buy Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy has been around for a very long time. There has been many gamers young and old that have played these games and enjoyed them. If you been around on the original nes you probably played Final Fantasy. It was a hit for Square Enix and kept them a going. What has changed in this game is the graphics and the use of a magic point system. If you remember the original Final Fantasy you didn't get magic points but how many times you could use a particular level for spells. That has completely been redone and now the magic point system has been instated. If you haven't played this game it is a awesome game. I would recommend buying a psp for it. It is that good. What better than playing Final Fantasy but a Final Fantasy game you can take anywhere you want. The story line could be done better but this was made a long time ago. It does have a few extra dungeons that was brought in and some video clips on some parts. If you are like me you will probably buy this game because you want to get all the Final Fantasy games. If you love role playing games then you should pick up this classic. It is that good.Get more detail about Final Fantasy.

Purchase Namco Museum Battle Collection

Im 41 and have great memories of playing arcade games in actual arcades during my youth. This PSP package includes several of those games -- and my memories are much rosier than the actual games. I dont know if it is the PSP platform (and the terrible joystick "nub") or the games themselves but I got about 30 minutes of distraction from this game before putting it aside forever. Worst ROI from a game yet. If you are looking for a PSP game, spend your money on Patapon2 or PuzzleQuest.Get more detail about Namco Museum Battle Collection.

Order PSPgo Protective Screen Film

I put off buying these protectors because I hated the thought of paying $10 for a piece of sticky plastic. But after carrying my PSPgo around in my pocket, I noticed a few light scratches it had caused. Applying was kind of a pain. I did it slowly and with a credit card like another reviewer recommended. And I still ended up with a few small air bubbles. However, they're only really visible when the screen is black. Once you turn it on and start playing, they're pretty much unnoticeable.

I recommend not being a cheap-o like me and put off buying them. Unless you put your PSPgo in a case, you're going to get scratches on the screen. You paid $200 for the thing, so just pay a little bit more and protect the screen.Get more detail about PSPgo Protective Screen Film.

Shop For PSP UMD Case

As another reviewer stated, this is exactly what I was looking for. It has a nice oblong form and holds a large number of UMDs economically. It slips nicely into a backpack or storage pocket. The device uses magnets to close and to hold the UMDs in place, which works beautifully. The discs are easy to remove yet still held firmly in place so they don't fall out.

I could do without the accordian design, though it is by no means a problem, just not my preference. The hinges are a little wonky to close in that they can get stuck or feel awkward if you move them in the "wrong" motion. If you go through the "correct" motion, the hinges moves smoothly and it closes satistyingly.Get more detail about PSP UMD Case.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Review

I've never played any GTA before, but I love sandbox games. Sandbox games are games where, although there's a main storyline, you don't have to follow it and there's plenty you can do freelance. You can go all over Liberty City exploring, making money, being a hero or a villain. And freelancing is what I've mostly been doing so far. From go kart racing to rampages to taxi driving (complete 15 or so fares and you'll be ready for anything), street racing, running drugs, acting as a police officer, ambulance driver and firefighter will keep you very busy. You can return to the main mission whenever you feel like it. As you get further in the main storyline, more side missions become available to you to waste time on.

Cars are extremely well designed in this game and driving is a ton of fun. Depth-wise, you'll welcome how different cars handle differently, accelerate differently and take damage differently as you'd expect them too. Your race car won't take too many hits before it explodes (which is pretty sweet -- be sure to bail before it does though), and your big rig won't turn (or uh, do anything else) on a dime. In between you'll there are tons of different cars each handling a little differently and you'll come to favor certain ones for certain tasks. Pretty much any driving task will require you to break every driving law on the books. On the sidewalk, in-between lanes, against traffic, over pedestrians, shortcuts through yards... it's a blast. The GPS navigation is well done and allows you plenty of warning to make tight turn after tight turn at high speed. Car damage starts with you losing headlights, and as you take more hits doors and the hood fly open, the car smokes, then catches fire (which is your cue to get out) before exploding. There are various ramps throughout the city and the game will let you know your jump distance when you decide to play Dukes of Hazzard with one. When you discover certain ramps with really long straight lead-ins, you'll want to stop and hunt down just the right car to see how far you can get on it.

The reason I've described the driving in such depth is because it wasn't a no-brainer that driving would be as deep and satisfying as it is. Just because a franchise is known for quality on consoles doesn't mean its portable cousin will measure up, but this one does. Within minutes of playing this game, I knew the quality from start to finish was going to be top notch. Crappy developers don't pay that kind of attention to those kinds of details, so it was clear to me that this game was designed with care.

Story-wise I've yet to be impressed (and often, I'd rather have not read what I read -- but it is GTA, so sophomoric raunch isn't unexpected), but that's okay since you can press start and skip the dialogue and get into the action quick. The game prompts you through mission details you miss when you skip the cut scenes. This is a very big game with a lot to do. On a price per hour of gameplay basis, it's a much better entertainment value than your average DS game.Get more detail about Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Madden NFL 10 Top Quality

The gameplay is solid, aside from a few glitches and missed penalty calls, and even though the graphics aren't on par with the Playstation 3 version (of course) they are still good. Atari Classics Evolved Decide Now

I bought this game for my son and have to say it was a mistake. Neither my son nor I like this game set. The graphics are poor and the game play is very bad. I think the vertical arrangement is also a mistake. Atari could not have had to spend too much time on this arrangement of classics. Plus, the lockable games are not accessible unless you bar your way through the agonizing default set of games and I was not able to find a cheat code to bypass this.Get more detail about Atari Classics Evolved.

Low Price Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

I first picked up this game for the Playstation 1. I didn't like it at first, because of the difficulty of the game. Don't expect this game to be your "run-of-the-mill" Final Fantasy. Not by a long shot.

Many clones of this game have cropped up, and Final Fantasy Tactics certainly is a clone (in it's own right); because it clones many of the earlier games (Final Fantasy 3 and 5 respectively). The most famous of these is Vandal Hearts. Atlus game company came out with some worthy successors, but this game remains the best.

Now, don't get me wrong, this game is very good. The original story still holds up in many repects.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is still there from the original. You move, you attack, you try not to get killed. And believe me, you will lose characters along the way. I lost one character in the second battle, because I thought I had the dude, and my guy had less HP. You still have the base classes, and many classes have been renamed from the PSX version. The Job system has been re-vamped, and you will find that many of the original abilities have been changed or made more expensive. Don't expect to sit down and finish this game in 20 hours. This will take you a while.

Story:
Along with this, the original scenes in the PSX version (which were good, even by PSX standards and sprite animation) have been either updated with dialogue, or re-done in cell-shaded CGI animated, full-voice acted scenes. And the scenes are terrific. The opening CGI animation is re-done as well, replaced with Delita going along with the 5 characters (who create the diversionary battle that you fight the first time). The second animation (showing the kidnapping of Ovelia), is dynamite. You really get to see Delita's emotional -SPOILERS- ties to the princess begin to form. You also get to see Ramza's ties to Delita, and his torn duty to protect the princess and find out if Delita is really there. -END SPOILERS-

The story is one of the highlights, and if you haven't played either Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or Final Fantasy XII, this game will introduce you to the world of Ivalice in a huge way. Political intrigue, betrayal and romance just scratches the surface. There is a brand new translation, written much the same way as Final Fantasy XII was written. Old style english with many new phrases and old phrases stuck in for good measure.

Overall:

This game just rocks. From the music to the plot; character development, job classes, added features (including Balthier from FF12, Dark knight classes and Cloud from FF7) this game just rocks. Get it, and you won't be disappointed.Get more detail about Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions.

Save Killzone: Liberation

Killzone? On the PSP? Really? An FPS on a tiny, handeheld system with no second analogue stick? I had my doubts. I mean, I didn't much care for the original Killzone on the PS2. Still, I gave it a try, mostly because at this time, the PSP didn't have too many games on the shelves.
First of all, it is not an FPS. It's a top-down shooter. Which is okay, I was dreading an FPS. I started my game, ran around, guns blazing, blasting every Helghast I saw, and was taken out in no time flat. This game actually recqures some tactical thinking. I had to find cover, keep an eye on my ammo, know how fast my weapons fired and reloaded, know how the enemies reacted, keep an eye out for environmental hazards like mines and homing spider mines, and more, all at the same time! So I stopped my blind running-and-gunning and started paying attention to what was going on in the battlefield. Your Helghast enemies are smart, ruthless, and any one of them can take you out just as fast as you can take them out. They find cover, fire when you're reloading, flank you, send dogs after you... man! That was a surprise, I expected them to be nothing more than simple cannon fodder. There are vehicles that you can comandeer, which offer an interesting change to the usual style of play. Not to mention the challenges to help you net newer and better weapons. And, every now and again, you're partnered up with an ally, who (refreshingly) does not recquire you to babysit them. They listen to commands and I never, ever, had to tell them to do something more than once.
Keep in mind, though, that you will probably die a lot. The game has some serious challenges to throw at you, and it isn't hesitant to start sending them your way. It may take several tries to pass some levels. It tooke me a few days (Days!) to get past the refinery section of the game. I was frustrated and tempted to leave the game to collect dust! But, when I finally did pass it, was it satisfying.
Graphically, the game looks great. The Helghast are appropiately creepy with their glowing eyes and their gutteral cries in the heat of battle. the landscapes you fight across are nicely rendered and everything is animated nicely. The sound is terrific, with the of rife fire, bullet ricochet, grenade explosions, and the deet-deet-deet sound of a spider mine that will instantly send you back peddaling for cover.
Ultimately, for all the good it's got going for it, it is on the short side, which is a major knock against it. And, it also just kinda... ends. I know there were some extra levels to download from Guerilla, but i was never able to do so. For what it is, though, the game is a blast. But keep in mind the length of the game in comparison to the price of it, and be sure you get a deal. And don't say I didn't warn you about the frequent deaths...Get more detail about Killzone: Liberation.

Cheap PSP Starter Kit Megapack

The software that came with this item is out-dated and can't be updated like it claims. I can't even get a hold of the manufacturer of the software to figure out how to update it.

Other than the software issue, this is a good deal on the case even though I don't see how it can claim to hold up to 8 UMD discs when I can only fit 4 plus one in the PSP itself. They must expect you to slide 2 UMDs into each slot but I'm not gonna take a chance on damaging them.

The kit also came with a very flimsy kickstand that I'm not even gonna attach to my PSP that I don't see listed in the written description of the product.

Buying Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

If you were hoping for some more gameplay a la MGS 4, you are right in for a treat, specially because now you can take the gameplay EVERYWHERE. In fact, I could even recommend it for those who just want to play something in the PSP. But if you are an MGS enthusiast, you might be disappointed, they keyword here is MIGHT.

Peace Walker, as a standalone, works if it spawns a series. Because you can forgive it, if the second game fixes a lot of my problems with PW (Peace Walker). But as it stands now, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is a nice try, but doesn't quite cut it.

For starters, PW takes a very different approach to the series than PO (Portable OPS) in that, while PO grabbed heavily from Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater in gameplay standards. (Still talking about PO) You can run, you can aim in 1st Person or lock on to targets, you can even go Prone. (PO) Uses an engine that provides heavy model rendering, which gives a lot of detail to characters but in turns provides with blocky environments. PW does the opposite, opting for a more "wide" experience where the camera pans out too far, the environments look detailed and curvy, but in the end characters models are small and not too detailed. What this turns out is a much more "Portable" feel to the experience, that helps the CO-OP a lot in terms of gameplay.

Gameplay wise, a lot has changed. Gone is the ability to go prone, instead the game lets you crouch (first introduced in MGS 4), aim over the shoulder (MGS 4), use extensive CQC abilities with ease (first introduced in MGS 3, refined here to make it more superficial) and the likes. Enemies are not as clever as in PO, making for an easier experience. For once, their view is VERY limited, and you can often times prevent going into Alert Phase even if the enemy has already shouted that you are there.

The campaign by itself is short, a lot. It doesn't help that most of the campaign's missions are repeated. For example, one mission may ask you to go from point A to point B, the next one will pin you in a Boss Fight, and the next one will ask you to turn back and go from point B to point A.

But in case the campaign feels short, you can always play Extra Ops (rehashed maps with different objectives, often times too short), Outer Ops (superficial briefings in which you dispatch part of your army to a mission, and watch the results after) or simply replay missions.

Which brings us to the last point, your Army. Just as in PO, you have the option of recruiting soldiers, which in turn gives you a lot of benefits, But when PO presented you with a fair challenge (having to drag the soldiers to a truck while avoiding other soldiers) that felt satisfying when you would end up in an empty map, PW decided that it shouldn't be too tedious. To recruit soldiers, you simply make them lay down (either by tranquilizing, or by holding up) and use the Fulton Recovery system, which feels cheap and not too rewarding.

In that sense, the game is a lot less of what you expect. The controls are a fine emulation of MGS 4 mechanics, the graphics are nice and feel a lot more portable than PO's, the sound effects are nice (although I found the soundtrack to be lacking in a lot of departments) and the Co-op works fine. Still, the campaign is too short, the story takes itself a lot less seriously than in other games (up to the point where there are TOO MANY CHARACTERS and NONE OF THEM HAVE ENOUGH TIME IN THE STORY, with some characters only appearing once and briefly talking to you at some points), the bosses are machines that, while big in scale, feel like they were a lot easier to program than PO's character bosses, and the overall package is not worth the full retail price.

Even with all of this said, the game is a nice addition to your collection, specially if you loved MGS 4's gameplay and wished for more. Here's hoping that they make a sequel, and make a game that truly feels likes a Metal Gear Solid experience.Get more detail about Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

Buy Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines

The game's fun but after you've beaten it a couple of times the game gets boring. If you want tthe pricy upgrades you'll have to do side missions, and that kind of makes the game more fun and not to mention longer.Overall the game sacrifices few options from the full sized game and is loads of fun.wouldnt really recommend buying it but rather renting or borrowing it,as it is a fairly short game.Get more detail about Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

Purchase PSP Component AV Cable

I just recieved this item today and I was really happy that I could finally play my PsP on my TV... Untill I noticed there was no video cord.

I'm sure this is mentioned before, but if you only have the normal YELLOW/RED/WHITE hookup, this item isn't worth the buy unless you already plan on getting a wide screen LCD/High Definition TV in the future. Best one to use for normal TV sets is the COMPOSITE cable, not the COMPONIENT one.Get more detail about PSP Component AV Cable.

Shop For Mortal Kombat Unchained

To be blunt the low star reviewers seem to be idiots. There are not choppy graphics except in Konquest, the adventure mode, and good God who is buying this for that??? The graphics are amazing in fights and during Puzzle or Chess Kombat. There is no lack of specialty moves whatsoever, that is a completely moronic statement to try to pin on the game. The amount of characters you have to choose from is fairly generous and about all the flagship characters are there. Arcade mode is great, and the controls are incredibly responsive. It's an excellent game, no honest complaints except that Onaga is too hard at the end of Arcade Mode, oh well though.Get more detail about Mortal Kombat Unchained.

Resistance: Retribution Top Quality

Admittedly, I'm not a big PSP gamer, as I only tend to play it when I either have a little free time that's not conducive to my playing on my PS3, or there's a title that comes out that I actively want to play and make time for. Needless to say, neither of these circumstances happens very much. In the latter case, it tends only to be the `GOD OF WAR' titles for the PSP, and in the former case, I tend to spend my money wisely by purchasing titles that have been reviewed well across the board and if possible, are from a series that I tend to play (again, `GOD OF WAR' or `TOMB RAIDER'). It's in this nice little niche that `RESISTANCE : Retribution' falls. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first of how an FPS game would translate to a handheld device that, 1) didn't have all of the controls the six-axis controller did and 2) was also small enough and not ergonomically designed, to the extent that it can cause hand cramping. Regardless of my skepticism though, I picked it up, and I'm largely glad I did. Here's why....

THE GOOD : Beyond the impressive graphics, cool looking enemies, and appropriately challenging levels, the first and most impressive thing that struck me about the game, was how the designers tackled the problem of aiming and looking around with the lack of a second joystick. For both of these functions, the PSP's four main buttons (circle, square, triangle and X) act as the second joystick. While you might tend to think this would be a serious pain in the @$$ (as did I at first), this skepticism diminishes almost immediately upon actually playing the game. This functionality is split into 2 separate but very similar mechanics. When it comes to walking around and looking in directions, the triangle & X buttons are up and down, respectively and the square & circle buttons are left and right, respectively. Since your hand is basically placed above these buttons as it is, it makes it all that much easier to control your character. Where it really becomes impressive (and easy) is the aiming. The PSP does the majority of the aiming for you. As long as you're pointed in the general direction of your attackers, the reticule will automatically draw itself to the hostile and highlight itself red so you know you're `on target'. If you're not, you'll need to use the four main buttons to get yourself pointed in the proper direction, but it's not problematic in the least bit. But don't let this make you think this game is easy or that it'll be a cakewalk. It's not and there are some points that are downright difficult as all get out. However none of this is due to movement or aiming which makes it acceptable when you get stuck in a certain spot for a longer bit of time than you have at other points in the game. In fact, there are other concessions to the PSP platform this game makes to help the player out, without making the game too easy. The other that comes right to mind is the `snap-to' cover system. If you're unfamiliar with this dynamic, it basically means that instead of approaching cover and crouching or making sure you're properly positioned behind it, simply getting close enough to it and in the right direction, will cause your character to automatically position itself in the appropriate defensive posture so as not to get hit by incoming fire, but to allow for retaliatory fire. And speaking of firing, weapon selection is also handled quite well on the PSP for this game. Simply holding the right arrow on the D-pad pauses the action (sometimes a very handy trick if you need to get your bearings or formulate a strategy!) and brings up the weapons selection display. Then by using the four main symbol buttons and the right bumper button, you can select from any weapon in your inventory. All in all, the very best things about `RESISTANCE : Retribution' on the PSP are the innovative and clever concessions to the platform the developers made. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this game also comes with the ability to hook it up to your PS3 and, provided you have `RESISTANCE 2', play the game in `infected' mode, where your character gains regenerative health and a powerful magnum sidearm that shoots explosive rounds. Other capabilities exist for this game such as online play and the ability to connect this to your PS3 and play it with a six-axis controller (if you have the right set of cables) but, admittedly, I didn't mess with this option as I prefer to play a game on the platform it's designed for. Of course, there were also some things I would have preferred. Thus....

THE BAD : For a game that's so mechanically sound, that looks so good and that is appropriately challenging........why can it be (at times)so ......uninspired? That's not to say that the game is a lame duck, it's not worth your time, or that it's outright boring, but other than the mechanics, there's very little new here. Most of the enemy chimera are the same as you've seen in the 2 console games, the story plays out basically the same and the protagonist you play may as well be the one from the console shooters as well. Except, well, he talks a lot more and actually has some smarmy dialogue. Even the ability to gather intel is extrapolated from the console games and feels more stale than fresh. But then again, in games like this, that's become par for course, so I suppose it really shouldn't be a sore spot? But what was new, such as the ability to unlock skill points, felt a little forced, like it existed to take your mind away from the fact you were essentially playing a `bite-sized' version of the console games. Maybe it's just that I didn't play this game in a fairly short timeframe and that it was broken up over a couple of months due to time constraints, but even so, I never felt `compelled' to play this game because I just couldn't put it down. It was more like I just enjoyed it when I could. Then again, maybe I'm looking for a little too much when it comes to PSP games that fall into category 2 from my opening paragraph? Like `GOD OF WAR : Chains Of Olympus', `RESISTANCE : Retribution' is simply a `smaller' version of the console games - no more, no less. It basically transports as much of the full experience of the console games down onto the smaller PSP platform. I guess I shouldn't be looking for much more? Having said that, if that's the approach to be had, there really isn't much about this game.

THE BOTTOM LINE: As I just stated, `RESISTANCE : Retribution' not only successfully imports the RESISTANCE experience down onto the PSP, but makes some very innovative and clever mechanic and playability adjustments in doing so. With some of the additional features it has, such as the `infected mode', it's a very worthwhile and challenging game to play on the PSP. Not just for fans of the series, but also for fans of shooter games in general who are looking for a successful interpretation of the genre to a portable device. Overall this is an exceptionally well done game.

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories This instant

Let me make this clear, I do not like any of the G.T.A. series. The only reason I like this one is because it is more "calm" then the others. No F-Bomb every other word, no extreme sexual refferances. However people it is still an M rated game and is for a reason. The violence level is still high and the destruction you must bring is severe. It still has a ton of F-Bombs, but no where near as the others.

The blood is very cartoonish. Example, if you shoot someone in the head with a sniper, the head blows off and that person flails their arms for a few brief seconds while unrealisticly ammounts of blood pump out the neck and fly everywhere. Then the blood pools which is very small compared to some games. The random dialog for NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) can be funny, normal, or insulting. Example, if you stand in front of a car the driver might say:
"I'm trying to cruise for p****y here!"
Please note that the lines are all random and there is no way of telling when it could fly out again.

Parents, if your child wants this I'm telling you right up front. If they are under 17 and you care, don't buy it. Even though this is a sort of "watered down" version, it is still aimed at 17+ party. There are drugs, murder, destruction, language, and blood (which I've allready said is cartoonish.) Please take all reviews you can before making a serious decicion about purchasing for your kid.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Immediately

I could complain a bit about the mechanics of the game, having a constant roulette deciding how much help you get in each fight and how often you level up is a little silly... But, it's great. It plays great, and if you've played Final Fantasy VII than you must play this game. It doesn't only play through a few obvious scenes that you're expecting but it also expands the story and makes you fall absolutely in love with Zack.
If you haven't played Final Fantasy vII it may still be enjoyable... but, I'd recommend downloading that first on the PSN for 10 bucks, playing through it, and Then going back to this game.Get more detail about Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

PSP 3000 Get it now!

I've spent the last few weeks doing some research on which to buy, and finally caved and bought a PSP GO. I ended up returning it and buying the PSP 3000, and here's why:

1. Physical comfort.

I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for things that are new and look cool (sometimes at the cost of utility.) Plus, things that slide are undoubtedly awesome. Sony knew that when they made the GO. The problem is the "cool" and "new" factors are outweighed by the smaller screen and compressed controls. Also, I thought it would be better having the controls on the bottom wh en gaming, and have a less distracting view when watching movies since the buttons would be hidden, but I was wrong. The buttons on the side are far more comfortable, convenient, and surprisingly natural. The bigger screen actually does make a difference, and the L and R buttons just feel more natural this way.

One thing to note about the screens (both have the same resolution):

They're good, but not great. The problem is we're spoiled now. If you have a smartphone (which if you don't, I feel like I don't even know you,) you'll be disappointed when you see some things on the screen that are just so clearly pixelated. I'm going to post a video review in a bit and you'll see what I'm talking about.

2. Digital games vs. UMD (the names of the physical discs that the 3000 uses.)

For those who don't know, the PSP GO uses digital games exclusively. There are no physical discs. You download games from the Playstation Network store. It's convenient since you don't have to carry discs around, and you have immediate access to a huge selection.

The 3000 uses physical discs (UMD) as well as downloads. Now, carrying discs around is definitely a hassle (even though they're only about 2 inches by 2 inches), but the benefit is that you can buy used discs for very cheap, an option not available with the digital only GO.

***IMPORTANT TIP***

At GameStop, you can buy used PSP UMDs for cheap, and they have a great return policy. For any reason, you can return any used game within 7 days for a full refund, to any GameStop in the country. If you don't have your receipt, you have to return it to the location where you bought it.

***/IMPORTANT TIP***

3. Price

This is often overlooked but I think very important. The retail price for the GO is $250, which is pretty crazy given that you can often find a PS3 for $250, or at worst, $300. Given that you can get a full system for 20% more, it's hard to justify spending that much for considerably less functionality.

Now on Amazon you can get the GO go for $200, plus tax and such leads to about $215. On NewEgg, you can get the PSP 3000 with Madden 11, free shipping and no tax for $170. So you'll end up paying at least $45 more, but for what?

You are really spending $45 more for no reason. And with this extra $45, comes the responsibility to spend even more on games that you buy directly from the PlayStation network as opposed to used UMDs.

4. Memory Stick

***IMPORTANT TIP***

If you do decide to get a GO, it uses something called the M2. If you buy it from Amazon, you get a 4GB for $15 and it comes with an adapter for the Memory Stick Duo:

http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Memory-Stick-SDMSM2-4096-Package/dp/B00107AO58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281896190&sr=8-1

If you buy a 3000, it uses the Memory Stick Duo, which if you buy by itself, a 4GB will run you ~$19:

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Memory-Stick-Flash-MSMT4G/dp/B0013AX2JM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1281896267&sr=1-2

I know it's only a matter for $4, but I thought that was interesting (I need to get out more) and worth mentioning.

***/IMPORTANT TIP***

5. Fun level

They're both freaking fun. Sony knows what they're doing, the games are great, the devices are both portable and easy to take around, and keep you entertained for hours. Either way, you'll love what you bought.

6. WRAP UP

I ended up with a 3000 and I'm happy with it. I couldn't justify spending nearly as much money as I would on a full system without getting much in return. And the ability to buy used games for considerably less was also hugely attractive. Finally, the better placement of the controls really won me over.

Enjoy!Get more detail about PSP 3000.
