Shop For Ridge Racer

A friend of mine had this game on PSP and it is what got me to buy the system in the first place. I have never played any other incarnations of this game so this PSP version was fresh for me. The graphics are great and very detailed. The challenge of the game progresses as you get to be a better player. That's what keeps players like myself coming back to the game. You advance through novice courses into expert courses and on to one on one challenges with rival drivers/cars. There may only be 24 tracks to race but the mix of the six different classes of cars gives you the chance to try new things on each of the courses.
The only drawback I have noticed on this game is that the reward system is cheesy and not very well designed. After completing ALL of the basic and expert races you are rewarded with "The End Credits!" Woohoo! The other awards are just as lame with design drawings and earlier generation game credits as awards.
I've started the whole game over several times and always get a kick out of advancing in the courses. I've enjoyed this game and would encourage others to give it a shot.Get more detail about Ridge Racer.

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade Review

I picked up Untold Legends because a friend of mine who I used to play Champions II with told me it was the same thing. It really is, and this is not a bad thing at all. It is an interesting adaptation of it, done very well on a portable. As many reviews have said it is incredibly alike to Diablo 2 or Fate. If storyline is a major factor in your decision, I would not suggest this. I can remember a multitude of areas and regions, but absolutely none of the story. If you have never played the afore mentioned games then let me tell you that this is frankly like a glorified Flash Adventure. This is actually a very good thing, the gameplay is simple but very enjoyable and the graphics are pretty good as well, considering how early this was released. For an eagle eye, action adventure, this game delivers.Get more detail about Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade.

Wall-E Best Quality

I just purchased this game today, so I have only had a few hours to play it. But my 7 yr old son (who's being healed of autism) LOVES THE GAME! I'm not a BIG video game buff, but did want a few games to use on my PSP - so this was my 1st game choice (out of a very small local selection) - and we like it!

Yes, the camera (or view) does go off the screen sometimes and you have to maneuver Wall E to get your view back - but overall - and for the short time we have played it . . . WE LIKE IT!Get more detail about Wall-E.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Buy Now

Very nice video game, not the best one of the Marvel franchise, but in my opinion, Marvel video games developed by Activision are not the best examples. In the case of X-men Origins: Wolverine; we can say it has more in-game action than other video games, specially for the big quantity of moves that Wolverine has. In terms of plot, it doesn't adapt to much to the movie (Maybe it uses part of the history that appears in the comics), I personally found the game too short. In other aspects It would be better if the game would have bosses at the end of the missions, because at the end of it, you get tired of the same level of difficulty. In overall, I think this game it's not a trash, but not what I expected.Get more detail about X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

MLB 08: The Show Decide Now

MLB 08 the show is really a remarkable game. It has the quality and presentation of a high end PS2 game while being portable. For anyone who has played almost any DS sports game, you know just how dreadful portable sports gaming can be.

It has a solid season mode which goes up to 162 games and allows full control, right down to mound visits and bullpen warmups. In addition to the solid baseball, there is the Road to the Show mode in which you create your player and guide them through the important parts of their career (essentially ABs and defensive plays they are involved with.

It is in the Road to the Show mode that some of the control quirks become more irritating. While baserunning in fairly intuitive in a regular game, when you control your man in the career mode, it is a chore. He'll stop and stutter for seemingly no reason, this leads to more than your fair share of pickoffs and baserunning mistakes. They will also occasionally run right through the base and continue to go, even if there is no reason to.

Further complicating matters is the fielding controls which switch viewpoints and then the buttons required to throw to a certain base. This is managable after a few games, but for that first bit, it is incredibly irritating to try and turn a double play and throw home instead.

Despite these flaws, it delievers a solid package of baseball which won't disappoint you.Get more detail about MLB 08: The Show.

ATV Offroad Fury Pro Right now

This is a pretty good game. I was big on the freeroam. Not into the track racing. This game does not support it. You can't go tooling around off the tracks to just shred and do jumps anywhere in the worlds. Even in freeroam mode, if you venture off the track you get the 3 second warning.

Other than that, it's your standard ATV Off Road Fury game.Get more detail about ATV Offroad Fury Pro.

Save Dante's Inferno

In reality this game is simply one large, boring cartoon. Your character cannot move five paces without activating a cinema sequence. What little game play that is allowed has a camera angle so tight you cannot discern what your character is actually doing. You can press random buttons and the game basically plays itself, and when you do defeat an enemy you activate a cinema sequence. Cinema sequence, after cinema sequence, after cinema sequence. You are actually paying 40 dollars for a very low budget and painfully boring American cartoon. This is a game without any game play. This title should be listed under "animation" not "video games". It is highly unlikely I will purchase another EA game.Get more detail about Dante's Inferno.

Cheapest LocoRoco 2

This sequel to the oddball hit Loco Roco falls in the categories of both "whimsical" and "eccentric". It's not a puzzle game, but you need to solve puzzles. It's not a twitch game, but from time to time, the way you twiddle the triggers is everything. It's not ultra-realistic, and yet physics is an important part of gameplay.

In Loco Roco 2, a world of cute creatures made from simple shapes has been overrun with some odd colorless creatures from another world. They've corrupted the color with black blobs and it's up to you to put things right. You play a cute little yellow blob that grows bigger as it finds things to eat. Movement in Loco Roco 2 consists of using the shoulder buttons to tilt the world this way or that and make your blob hop up and down--and it comes down to timing the tiliting/sliding action with the hops to get the blob to go where you want it to. Your cute little blob is made up of (and can break itself into) bunches of little blobs, and from time to time that is exactly how you have to get through parts of each level. Levels vary enough to be interesting, with sliding on ice, bobbing on water, or slipping through pachinko-like tunnels in "little-blob" form enjoyable.

Everything seems simplistic on the surface, but it can get fairly complicated if you're one of those people who wants to experience it all: hidden areas, minigames, alternate side goals and more are embedded in the game. You can replay levels, and the levels can "Level Up" which apparently makes it easier for you to find more goodies. You also find other characters who become playable as you go along, with slight differences in how they behave.

This colorful, simple-shape world is backed by a soundtrack reminiscent of Sesame Street: it's very childlike and cheery. While you're playing the game, it adds to the experience. However, I've found that anyone *not* playing Loco Roco 2 who gets within earshot finds it annoying (and I can't imagine buying the soundtrack CD that's offered here and actively listening to it outside of the game). Children will most likely enjoy this game, but smaller children who are just getting into gaming would probably have a hard time understanding some of what is expected of them: they'd probably be more prone to tilting the PSP and expecting things to roll or slide than they would be able to figure out the shoulder-button mechanics. I expect that the very small will enjoy watching big brother or sister (or mom or dad) while they play, as its Baby-Einstein graphics can make Loco Roco 2 almost hypnotic at times.

If you like a bit of puzzling and don't mind a bit of arcade button-mashing, Loco Roco 2 will provide you a gaming experience that strays outside of the mainstream. Its content is definitely safe for children, and makes a nice break from the typical, "you have bad guys, and you have to shoot/kill/explode/bop 'em on the head" gameplay mechanic that permeates many games. Its eccentric style may not be for everyone, and its soundtrack may overrun your tolerance for sweetness, but I think it's just part of an excellently-crafted package. I haven't found everything (or even completely beaten) Loco Roco 2 yet, but I definitely see myself getting there.Get more detail about LocoRoco 2.

Cheap PSP 2000 Battery Charger

i own a psp 3000 and have a 2nd sony battery and it charges both nicely. bought this thinking it would have prongs to simply connect to a wall socket so it would be portable and easy to take along however you need to attach a rather long cord to the bottom of the unit and then plug it in the wall.

it takes approximately 2-3 hrs to charge from zero bars just like the ac adapter.

the good thing about this unit is that i can play without any interruptions while my 2nd battery is being charged.

although the nuisance of having a cord defeats the purpose of it being portable, i am still satisfied overall by its usefulness in allowing me to play uninterrupted.

i've tried using a third party battery on this charger and it will not charge and the orange light on the charger blinks which means it won't charge so becareful with non sony batteries.Get more detail about PSP 2000 Battery Charger.

I found out later that it is the exact same game on the ps2 Atv 3 and i got more bored of it after i got it for the ps2. If i were u unless u really like it i would just buy it for the ps2. Order PSP-2000 Battery (1200 mAh)

For how much it was, I guess I'm not too surprised, but this battery did not work at all in my Fat PSP. I got it and immediately put it into my Fat PSP, but it refused to charge. No response. Not matter how hard I tried. For how much it would have been to send it back, I just didn't bother. Think this low price is too good to be true? Well it is. Don't buy.Get more detail about PSP-2000 Battery (1200 mAh).

Where To Buy PSPgo Protective Screen Film

I put off buying these protectors because I hated the thought of paying $10 for a piece of sticky plastic. But after carrying my PSPgo around in my pocket, I noticed a few light scratches it had caused. Applying was kind of a pain. I did it slowly and with a credit card like another reviewer recommended. And I still ended up with a few small air bubbles. However, they're only really visible when the screen is black. Once you turn it on and start playing, they're pretty much unnoticeable.

I recommend not being a cheap-o like me and put off buying them. Unless you put your PSPgo in a case, you're going to get scratches on the screen. You paid $200 for the thing, so just pay a little bit more and protect the screen.Get more detail about PSPgo Protective Screen Film.

MX vs. ATV : On The Edge

This game is fun but it is very hard. I tried to beat it for over a year than i gave up and used cheat codes. Which then i tried to go back and beat it with cheat codes and i still couldent. So i just did freeride and messed around at places and explored. I used every veichle there is a atv, mx bike, sandrail, buggy, trophy truck, and a golf cart. Each of them have different colors and u can put ur name and number on them. The graphics r good but just like any ordinary atv game and the sound will get very annoying with the engines running. Especially the sandrail. One thing i hated about this game is that u fall off of ur bike or atv really eaisily. Ape Escape On The Loose Review

There's a lot of harsh reviews for this game. Now the game has it's flaws, the vast majority of games do. Even the best ones.

The flaws are that the loading times are often and fairly long for today's standards. The controls are a bit tough to get used to. This game would have benefited from an lock-on feature. That way you could better follow the Ape you're chasing.

The story is meh, but then again you don't buy a game called Ape Escape: On the Loose for the story. It's tolerable. The voice acting was surprisingly good and frequent. The game is fun and the fun factor makes up for the problems the game has. At least for me it does. At $10 it's a great deal to at least try this game which is, in my opinion, an underrated PSP game.Get more detail about Ape Escape On The Loose.

Silent Hill Origins Get it now!

This is a review for the PS2.

You are a truck driver named Travis, taking a shortcut through a little area that we know as Silent Hill. You come on a house fire, save a kid, and try to find out what happened here. The good thing - you have the whole of Silent Hill on the case. The bad - you have the whole of Silent Hill on your case.
It leads to many things, including yourself, and it is a beautiful thing.

First, I am going to list the one fault I have with the port and that is views. While many of the games have had a lot of bad angles, this one had some really awful ones. This leads to a lot of deaths if you don't watch it, and to a lot of getting tangled up in furniture or missing something without looking closely. That said, it is only a small thing and, really, this IS a Silent Hill game and deserves much praise.

The set-up here is a lot like 2 in the way it maps out the regions. It gives you the whole set-up of the leading without leading, and it lets you make mistakes and it lets you find a plethora of items. The enemies get increasingly more bizaree, too, and you always have a looming fear of a triangle head in your mind (ooo that Butcher). All the while you are learning about one of four ending on your way to Travis and what he is all about and, i must say, Travis has a screwed up life.

you also learn more Silent Hill lore - a lovely thing I WANT in these games.

Another thing here is the control and the ability to dodge. Sometimes you cannot avoid and sometimes you have to blast, but all sorts of things are useful as melee weapons. you can use things like sticks and swords as three hit weapons before they break, or things like typewriters that just hit hard and break. You also have better guns in the process, and these help quite a bit. If you are a bullter saver like me, you will find yourself walking through this with ease. This leads you to bonus outfits and other things that are really nice.

for a port this is amazing. I really thought it would be something decent, but I found myself having to beat it. It is the regular 4-8 hour game play-through depending on your speed, but those are well-spent. You get the horrid monster, the good sounds, and the other wonderful stuff. You also have a grand sountrack with Mary singing actual songs - pick these up because they are great.
all in all, this deserves a lot more praise than it had. I loved it long time.Get more detail about Silent Hill Origins.

PSP Travel Case Order Now

As someone who likes to keep their equipment safe, I bought this case after doing some research online. When it got delivered, I was a tiny bit disappointed at how large and clunky it is, but it is nice how it can hold two UMDs in its lid.

The greatest thing about this case is how well it protects the PSP. One day I had carelessly left my PSP on my loft bed with the lid open, and when I came back in the evening I was horrified to find my cat had knocked it off the bed onto our tile floor. However, when I picked it up I found the only damage was some scratches on the plastic that covers the PSP screen and no damage on any part of the system. This thing is amazing. I bought it almost 5 years ago and it still flawless. First of all this game has the original and best version of lumines ever. Lumines is the most amazing puzzle game and if you goto [...] now and look it up you will see that it was one of the most highly rated games of all time. 2nd someone just gave me there old 1gb memory card and I plugged it in a month ago and was able to connect to the psp store and download Castlevaniea Symphony of the Night. Are you kidding me another top rated game stored on removable media. I mean this thing was so far ahead of its time its not even funny. Low Price Fast and the Furious

After owning and playing this game for more than a year I would say it is quite alright. To get down to the dirt then, the graphics are what you would expect from a portable, game situations will vary, its AD hoc Head to head capable. Now, basing its genre it would be close to rank it to the Need For Speed Series; the bad news, the vehicles are not as customizable as Need For Speed: Underground 2, load times are slower than expected for a portable racing game, the vehicle sounds are a little vague and not too realistic sounding especially when modified. Now the Good: I would say the game play is more enjoyable than Need For Speed: Most Wanted. There are MORE cars to choose from in this game than in M.W. adding as well why it is better is that in M.W. they removed the drift races, the cars are poorly supplied with modifiable customizations, and you have to run from the police who seem to be able to no-sweatily keep pace with a fully tuned Porsche GT in their [Crown Vics and BMW X5's] *[they look similar to the real world cars in my opinion] So if your looking for a racing game with some good options, I would take this one over Most Wanted.Get more detail about Fast and the Furious.

I'm not a gamer but I wanted to play poker, blackjack and other casino style games so I could review the basic procedures to feel comfortable when I visit Las Vegas. I could not find a nice simple game for the PS3 that had this type of play so I looked on line. I made a mistake and didn't know the difference in PS3 and PSN. Reminder for other buyers that this format doesn't load into PS3. I have to borrow my grandaughter's PSP to use the game. so the game itself is entertaining. you get to do career mode which is fun and everything. its difficult, not really challenging, I basically get 1st place in everything. its basically like the previous midnight clubs on ps2. however the only bad thing that i would say about the game, its the 2 month long load times. holy bananas, once you finish a race and go to the next or go to and from the garage, it seriously takes forever. At first i thought i had a defective game it was that bad.
Overall, I would recommened this to people that love racing games, or would like to just race/drive occasionally, because you can cruise around the cities they offer. (san diego and atlanta)Get more detail about Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition.

Cheap Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception

Ace Combat 4 was the reason I bought this little sucker of a game. though this game can no where near compare to the story of the Ace Combat 4, it still plays extraordinarily well. it is a good jet fighter simulator, and even has multiplayer, which even blew my mind, as almost all of the ace combat games are considered a story only game. I have nothing to say about seeing planes in the distance except this: impossible. All ways use the target lock-on, even if you are just going to fire machine gun ammo: tracks a little itself, but in a tight radius. great game, definitely bad story, but has it where it counts: gameplay.Get more detail about Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception.

Buying Patapon

Patapon is an interesting game. It's hard to describe and hard to categorize. The best that I can manage is that it's a: Real-Time Strategy, Rythm, Role Playing Game.
You are the Patapon God, and with your mystical drum, you will guide the Patapons to victory against their enemies, ensure that hunting is good and plentiful, and guiding them to their Promised Land. That's where the Rtyhm game section comes in, as you give them orders to attack, retreat, advance, and defend through the drum beats, AKA, the face buttons. Your soldiers gain new weapons and armor from your fallen enemies or through synthesising them with materials you that you find.
Music is a major part of the game, obviously. With the beat of the level you are in, you must give your troops their orders, wait for them to repeat your order as they carry it out, and then it's your turn again. Keep the rythm going and you get Fever mode, where your Patapons move faster, hit harder, and throw farther. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather, as winds blowing against you will not help your arrows go far, but rain will hide your scent from any animals you hunt. You soon gain access to miracles that you can preform, such as making it rain so the ground is cool and won't burn your followers, and even change the direction of the wind, allowing your arrows to go farther. And, perhaps rather importantly, the music is quite catchy. I often found myself humming the game's tunes hours after I had stopped playing.
The art style is... different, but in a good way. It is simple and the characters are all well animated. I found the Patapons to be charming, what with their cyclopean selves, and the lines that they spout when in battle are funny, though their word bubbles do pass by pretty quick. The music mini-games are fun, and tie into the main game with new items and such, so there's always a reason to go back to the singing tree and stuff.
Levels are challenging, with the songs changing with every new stage, and new hiccups that your enemies toss in your direction, along with environmental challenges to take into account.
My only gripe is that there is no pause feature in the midst of battle. I suppose that's okay, since pausing will throw off your rythm and ruin whatever streak you had going. But, seriously, once battle begins, it needs your undivided attention, as Fever mode is a boone to your progression.
It's not a game for everyone, but if you have an interest in strategy games, or RPGs, or even rythm games, then this might be for you. And at 19.99 as the full asking price, this is certainly a lot of game for the buck.Get more detail about Patapon.

Order Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Let me get this straight; according to Rockstar Leeds, the tools for building an empire are the Nintendo DS, its stylus, and this game . . .

Works for me.

One of the most critically acclaimed DS titles (and, ironically, a sales flop), GTA: Chinatown Wars whips up a miniaturized adventure in the most dangerous city on Earth. As the son of a fallen Triad boss, you must avenge your father's death and recover a stolen family heirloom. When you actually get around to doing that, there's a bunch of missions that walk you through the game and the story. Even if you never get around to that, There's still lots to do in the fully interactive environments of Liberty City, especially regarding touch screen use. From hotwiring cars to scoring drugs to working at a tattoo parlor, each gaming session promises a new experience (however morally depraved). But the one thing that keeps the game from achieving absolute greatness is its fickle AI; you get a pass if you slam into a few cars, but speed through a toll booth and the cops are on you like duck sauce on an egg roll. And driving through town's like a citywide demolition derby--confined to a parking garage.

Mortal Kombat Unchained Review

To be blunt the low star reviewers seem to be idiots. There are not choppy graphics except in Konquest, the adventure mode, and good God who is buying this for that??? The graphics are amazing in fights and during Puzzle or Chess Kombat. There is no lack of specialty moves whatsoever, that is a completely moronic statement to try to pin on the game. The amount of characters you have to choose from is fairly generous and about all the flagship characters are there. Arcade mode is great, and the controls are incredibly responsive. It's an excellent game, no honest complaints except that Onaga is too hard at the end of Arcade Mode, oh well though.Get more detail about Mortal Kombat Unchained.
